Technology is so important, especially in today’s day and age. However, seniors citizens may need some education in this area. Perhaps to begin, your grandchildren can give a couple of basic lessons, but you might want to go another step further to learn more specific tech details…
Maybe you’ll want to consider taking a self-paced or DIY course online? That way, you don’t feel so stressed or overwhelmed while taking on this interesting challenge. Make sure that whoever teaches you is patient and helpful, so that your confidence builds up accordingly. You don’t want this to be a negative experience for you.
Now, you don’t need to necessarily learn all the technical jargon, but the process and order of directions with technology are relevant and ultimately matters most. One aspect you do need to learn is safety tips while browsing the Internet. You do not want to have to deal with a virus potentially damaging your laptop.
At this point, using technology should be more about socialization and entertainment! You might want to connect with extended family on Facebook and spend some time in the groups or rooms (which is a new feature.) Maybe you want to learn how screen sharing on Skype works. Then, you can watch a movie on Hulu with friends during quarantine time. Of course, then you have email management with Gmail, which is great for shopping because you can receive great deals and coupons.
