January Awareness for Senior Caregivers

January awareness is all about Glaucoma Awareness Month, along with Blood Donor Awareness Month. It is an important time to spread the word about this sight stealing disease.

Now, here are some ways you can help to raise awareness:

  1. Talk to friends and family about glaucoma. If you have glaucoma, don’t keep it a secret. Let your family members know.
  2. Request to have a free educational booklet/leaflet a from your medical doctor.
  3. Get involved in your community through fundraisers, online information sessions, group discussions, and more…

In addition, blood donations are so essential. Whether you’re an A, B, O, or AB it’s very important. The benefits of donating blood include helping people injured in accidents, undergoing cancer treatment, and battling blood diseases, among other reasons.

So, if you’re a caregiver this information will better help you care for seniors. Whether it’s in a group setting or one on one care. Sight is a gift that needs tender, loving, care (TLC.)

Now, if you would like to help spread awareness by sharing your own personal story, we’d love to hear it or even a quick comment! However, if you happen to need some extra convincing to open up, please feel free to join our senior community to connect and communicate with others. That way, others will learn valuable information to get healthier themselves. In the meantime, please like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram, plus check out our sponsorship opportunities if you’re a service provider.
