Easter is approaching within a few days! How do you plan on celebrating with your older loved ones? Well, there are many ways to include our senior relatives.
Attend a Church Service
Check with your local church to see what type of services they offer between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Dress in your Easter best and enjoy a service or two. If you can’t get to a church, reach out to one and see if they’ll put on a special service for seniors at your facility or a local senior center.
Re-Pot Lillies
Simple decorating ideas include putting symbolic plants in festive holiday pots. Lillies are one of the most symbolic flowers used because they represent purity and hope.
Host a Brunch
Many families gather for a traditional lunch or dinner, so hosting an Easter brunch for friends can easily fit into a busy schedule. Have guests dress up, decorate and set tables, and make cute name cards for each guest. Serve scrambled eggs and ham to keep with the theme.
Make Gourmet Chocolate Eggs
Forget kids’ Easter candy and use a gourmet chocolate eggs recipe. You can use egg molds to help you get the shape. Look for filling flavors adults will enjoy that kids might not such as lavender, pink peppercorn, or even dark chocolate.
Now, if you’ve tried any of these holiday suggestions, we’d love to hear a positive story about it! However, if you happen to need some extra convincing, please feel free to join our senior community to connect and communicate with others. That way, you’ll see how fantastic and fun it is implementing these ideas. In the meantime, please like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram, plus check out our sponsorship opportunities if you’re a service provider.
