Health is important to focus on and keep balanced. For those that are unfamiliar, June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month! It’s the best time to discuss this major health issue that many seniors face. If someone you care about has this illness you can wear purple to help spread awareness.
This is the time to support and educate each other about Alzheimer’s disease. Whether you’re the patient or caregiver, it’s best to gain as much insight as possible. This can only help to improve life quality.
Now, there are certain things you can do to help improve mild symptoms. There are specific activities that can help improve the brain’s focus and memory such as puzzles, crosswords, card games, trivia, reading, and much more…
Then of course, there’s nutritional needs to consider such as foods rich in antioxidants and Omega 3. Some dietary changes that can be made to your entrees include switching from fried to baked and frozen to fresh. Some examples include hard boiled eggs, whole wheat toast, blueberry yogurt, baked cod, brown rice with sweet peas, baked chicken, purple cabbage with sweet potatoes, a mixed fruit and nut bowl with blackberries, strawberry, and almonds.
So, if you have some insights that you’d like to share about your healthcare experience, then we would love to hear them! However, if you happen to need some knowledge or comfort, then please feel free to like us on Facebook.
